About the opportunity
As a key member of the management team, this newly created position, will provide authoritative expert advice and
documentation on matters of accounting and tax. Based in Morley, we are offering the successful applicant:

As the Tax Manager, we are looking for someone who will:
- Undertake all review work of junior and senior staff members ensuring key ATO lodgement requirements and standards are met including annual tax returns, FBT returns, BASs and IASs.
- Undertake all review work of junior and senior staff members ensuring key ATO lodgement deadlines are met including annual tax returns, FBT returns, BASs and IASs.
- Measure and monitor the productivity of the Australian-based team and ensure 70% of their time is consistently productive.
- Measure and monitor the productivity of the overseas team and ensure 85% of their time is consistently billable.
- Ensure a turnaround time of four weeks for complex tax returns.
- Ensure all client enquiries for help are responded to within 24 hours.
- Ensure all conversations with clients are summarised in the CRM system.
- Ensure all the staff understand changes to software and legislative taxation and can apply this knowledge effectively in their work.
- Ensure you always present yourself professionally.
- Ensure your personal behaviour, is aligned with the company’s values.
To be successful you will have:
- An Accounting University Degree.
- Membership of one of the accounting bodies.
- Experience in Xero Ledger, Xero Practice Manager, Xero Tax and MS Office.
- Experience using Ignition, CAS and BGL 360 highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with detail orientation and strong communication skills.
- At least 5 years’ experience practising in Australia as a tax accountant.
- Successfully managed a small team.
- Successfully managed an overseas team.
- An enjoyment in taking initiative and solving client problems.
- Have strong commercial acumen and an ability to think “outside of the box” to achieve client’s needs.
- Have an interest in assisting with the firm’s business development strategies.
